Help develop the first test for Interstitial Cystitis!

English and Spanish subtitles available

Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS) can result in reoccurring severe pain in the bladder and/or compromised urinary function. Diagnosing IC/BPS is difficult as there currently is no medical test available. Therefore, there is a need for a medical test for IC/BPS. Your contribution to this research will help researchers develop a urine-based test for Interstitial Cystitis.

We are collecting urine samples from people with IC/BPS, as well as from healthy participants. If you choose to enroll in the study, you will be sent a kit in the mail that contains an information sheet, 3 urine collection kits, and return mailing envelopes.

We ask that you provide a urine sample. If possible, please find one or two friends or family members with a healthy bladder who are willing to give samples. These additional samples are not required for your participation in this study, but are appreciated and will help towards developing an Interstitial Cystitis test.

The kits will contain information on how to collect and return your urine sample. Please refer to the ENROLLMENT and SHIPPING pages for more information.

Reminder: Control participants do NOT need to Enroll- please fill out the physical survey only!

Participation in this study is only available to residents of the United States of America and armed service members stationed at US military bases.
